Technology Stocks Opens Tuesday Session Mixed

Technology shares were mixed as the regular session started Tuesday. In technology stocks news, Mentor Graphics (MENT) was up marginally after it said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing the U.S. Federal Trade Commission granted early termination, effective immediately, of the applicable waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act for Siemens’ pending acquisition of the company.

And, Spark Networks (LOV) was up 1% after a former executive said he would not be surprised if Match (MTCH) acquires the company, even if the company’s stock price drops below $1 per share and its subscriber base decline, but . Aaron Young, former VP of business development and strategic partnerships for Spark, told the New York Times he would not be surprised if Match Group (MTCH) acquired Spark in the near future “so they have the No. 1 players – JDate and ChristianMingle – in each of these categories.”
